14 years ago, I began attending births as a doula. Since then, I have earned a degree in anthropology and completed a midwifery apprenticeship in the Midwest. Since earning my CPM, I have been attending births as both a doula and homebirth midwife on Cape Cod. I believe in the mom’s right and ability to birth the way they choose and that my role is to provide informed compassionate care to all my clients.
Studies have shown repeatedly that giving birth at home is equally safe to giving birth in the hospital. In fact, outside of the United States, home birth is standard practice for the majority of industrialized countries across the globe. A homebirth midwife offers comprehensive and personalized care, with their focus on the best interest of the family and baby.
